Durham City Wins The Clark Cup

After several years of success in the North Durham Union League the club team finally added the Durham County Golf Union, Clark Cup to its list of achievements. With the County celebrating its centenary year Durham City lifted the trophy at Castle Eden, defeating Wearside 3-2 in a closely contested final. It has been a long-awaited victory in the event which encompasses the 44 clubs in the County Union.

Marchy Just Misses Out On Matchplay Title

Graeme Marchbank came very close to completing a hat trick of County Matchplay titles at Seaton Carew. Playing in the final for the third time in 4 years, having won the tournament in 2005 & 2006, Marchbank met one of County Durham’s rising stars, 17 year-old Callum Tarren of Dinsdale Spa GC.

Sarah wins English Girls Championship

Sarah Tyson of Redlibbetts Golf Club, Kent won the English Girls Championship held at Durham City recently. The 17 year old scratch player defeated Cheshire’s Charlotte Wild in the final, having played outstanding golf throughout the championship.
