The Senior Section and particularly this year's Captain, Jim Mooney have enjoyed another fantastic year with great weather for most events and excellent support to match.

There has been some great competition this year, with the prizes spread amongst the membership.  One of the highlights came during the Club Captain's Prize with George McGowan scoring a hole-in-one on his way to a score of 45 points and victory.

Senior Captains Day was a also a hot one; with Eddie Newby taking the honours with 42 points.

With the Nevin Cup and Withinshaw Cup both subject to play-offs it should also be an exciting end to the season.

We always receive good comments about Durham City Golf Club from visiting teams and with our new team shirts we are dressed to match the quality that the Club represents. This year the Senior's team has done very well and amongst several noticeable wins this season was a clean sheet at home to Consett.

If you are over 60 and want to join in the fun, see our notice board or contact the Senior's Section Honorary Secretary, Bob Ruskin.
