County Match DCGCCounty Match DCGCThe Club hosted the Durham v Cheshire Northern Counties match last Saturday, Durham narrowly winning in what was a closely fought contest.

The match was in the balance right up until the last 2 or 3 matches the victory all the more sweeter as Durham now have the opportunity to win the title if they defeat Yorkshire at Wetherby on the 28th August, it won’t be easy.

Comments were positive from all sides’ players, county officials and spectators all being impressed with the condition and design of the course.

The lunch arrangements were top quality with the food and service top notch. Frank Chatfield the Durham Captain congratulated the staff for making it such a success on and off the course.

 

Captains Charity - Great North Air Ambulance

 

After a busy Saturday, Frank was at it again on Sunday holding his Captain's Charity Medal in aid of the North Air Ambulance Service and very successful it was with a large field taking part.

Members played the Course set up for the County Match and David Barron came in with a net 60 off 12, 72 gross a score the County players would have been proud of. Alan Rowcroft finished second with a net 64 again off 12. Graeme Marchbank finished with a two under par gross 69 off scratch another exceptional score. The CSS went down to 69 as players revelled in the conditions.
